House Hunting..

The house hunt continues. Jon, Jaecob and I checked out four more homes today-all of which do not have our interest. It's a bit harder than I had anticipated, but we've only looked at a dozen or so.

We wrapped up the family visits this weekend and closed with a mild rafting trip down the Rogue River. Jaecob and I shared a Tahiti, Jon floated down on an inner-tube and Tina joined in on a small raft. It made for a very relaxing four or five hour float.. I lost track. I didn't get many pictures as I didn't take my camera or phone (since our accident last year which damaged our phones!).

Jon is on some special medicine, and it looks like he'll need to postpone Karate for about eight months or so. One of the side effects is it eating up the cartilage between your bones...so keep him in your thoughts as it's probably not going to get any easier, especially with the cold approaching. He also thinks he is loosing his eyesight in one eye, which makes me a bit nervous since I am already hormonal and edgy and the thought of him loosing his sight- while his other senses may be heightened brings me to tears! Can you image not being able to see our children growing up, or never being able to enjoy the many things that we "see" everyday? He has an appointment later this month.

Jaecob and I completed the Kindergarten school shopping. I always loved shopping for back to school supplies as a kiddo, and so does he. :-) Our anniversary is rolling up this week, Wednesday and I'd tell you what I got Jon, but he might read my blog! So I will have to wait to share.

A big praise is that Wednesday we'll get the official offer from a new employer Jon's been negotiating with which will be another blessing to our family and to Jon's professional career.

Close this Chapter!!

Did you think I'd forgotten our blog?!? That's how it seems at least.
These past few weeks have just had us wrapped up in work, pre-qualifying for a home, getting baby stuff organized, Dr.appt's and life in general. Stress doesn't describe it enough.

I can feel Ellie a lot more now. Jon & Jae have seen parts of her kicking though my belly. Although, it's hugely disappointing that they don't have a cure for the stretch marks that already have started to streak my body in dark purple lines. :-( But, this what our bodies were made to do. Here are my most recent preggo pictures! I can tell that I am getting the preggo cheeks as my face has swollen a bit too.

This past week both Jaecob & Jon finally received their Karate belts. They earned them about a week ago, but because of several things- (next paragraph) we were unable to actually participate in the class. They are both back on track now. It was really special as they both called each other out on the mat when it was time to "stretch" the belts before they were tied on.

Monday started out very rough for me as we had just come off a very short and packed weekend where Jaecob was sick home from school Thursday & Friday. He had not gone #2 in just about a week and the ongoing phone conversations with the on-call Dr's finally led me to taking him into the Dr. We had been giving him mineral oil, Metamucil, fiber bars, fiber muffins, Pedia-Lax and a long list of other recommendations that just weren't helping. He left, traumatized- having to get two children's enemas and passing "cement pebbles" as the Dr. called it.

We also opted while in there to hit two birds with one stone and finish up the round of shots he was needing for Kindergarten this year and two in each leg made him scream higher than I have ever heard him scream in a long time. Apparently, they sting. And, with the preggo belly it was hard to assist the Dr. on the other side and hold him down.

The next morning, the shots had given him a fever and the medicine from the other *condition* finally caught up to him and made him super sick, resulting in him staying home two more days.
Just when I thought it was over, on accident- he was visiting a friend's house and their big puppy trampled him while chasing after the little puppy. Everyone felt horrible, but a week later and lots of peroxide, saline solution, Epsom salt baths and neosporen and you can barely tell it was ever there. And, boy did he enjoy sharing the war-wound at school. Boys! I was happy that it cleared up quickly and that he just had another tetanus shot for school..really, the timing was incredible- but I was fearful of having to take him back into the Dr. with our lousy insurance. Yeah for home remedies & prayer.

Sunday, Jon's sister and family came into town for the week. Natalie, Rob, Brianna and Hudson. It was the first time ever that Jaecob and Hudson were able to meet and spent time as cousins. They call each other "cousin" when they forget each others name or "hey dude" but they act like they have known each other their entire lives. I wished we all got to see each other more.

Natalie, Rob & Jon went rafting on Wednesday and for the tail end part of the trip- Hudson and Jaecob hopped on the Tahiti to join in the last few miles. Jaecob had a blast. I sat the trip out, but we're hoping with the 83 degree weather today that we'll get another run in before everyone leaves.

Thursday & Friday- the storm came. It was beautiful, but crazy to have hail in August and flash flooding. Evenings were spent with the family watching the thunderstorms and hail and we even saw lightening strike on the mountain in Grants Pass. The fire was put out quickly.

I am looking forward to normalcy returning to our lives and the rush and speed of things calming down. Jon has been interviewing at several new prospective telecommute employers and continues to do so throughout next week. His Airfare http://www.apptism.com/apps/airfare I-Phone application will also be featured on the Apple store site next week under the Top 10 Favorite Travel section. This will really boost sales! His new portfolio www.validatorian.com is amazing and drawing in a lot of attention- all which provide new opportunities for our family.

Now..onto the continued house search!!
